Hey There!

Omar and Saleama Ruvalcaba have been happily married for 20 years. They are proud parents of 5.

Omar and Saleama began their homeschool journey in 2010. Together they have served the homeschool community in Memphis, TN through their homeschool nonprofit Gifted Athletes Homeschool P.E. and through P226 Innovative Homeschoolers. They have one adult son, a special needs high schoolers who is an honor roll student, two athletic and talented homeschool basketball daughters, and a A+ 7-year-older reader. The Ruvalcaba are active members of Bellevue Baptist Church.

About Saleama

Saleama is the director of Proverbs 22:6 Innovative Homeschoolers and director of Gifted Athletes Homeschool P.E. She is a published author and served a writer for Christianity Today for several years. Saleama has a BS in Church Ministries and a MA in Theological Studies.

About Omar

Omar is the assistant athletic director and offensive coordinator for varsity football at Harding Academy, a private Christian school in Memphis, TN. He is also the executive director of P226 Innovative Homeschoolers, head basketball coach for middle school girls, (MHEA) and owns and operates Gifted Athletes Homeschool P.E. Omar has a BS in Church Ministries, and working towards his Master’s in Theology at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary.

Although Omar and Saleama lead both P226 and Gifted Athletes Homeschool P.E., people often confuse the groups as connected organizations. They are not connected organizations. Registration is required for both organization. Many homeschool families do participate in both.
